2023
In 2022, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Connor Staskiewicz. Connor is the son of Gretta and Officer David Staskiewicz. He graduated from Millard North High School and is attending Creighton University, where is studying business and finance. In his free time, Connor enjoys playing golf and tennis and managing his investment portfolio. Connor, I’m sure you’ve heard that another person who began investing during his school years was Warren Buffett. Good luck with those finance classes!
2023
In 2022, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Whitney Holaday. Whitney is a student at Faith Baptist Bible College, which is located just north of Des Moines. She is studying Elementary Education with an endorsement for Middle School. To help finance her education, Whitney works at a daycare. In her time away from studying and working, she likes to read and watch movies, plus get involved with her church and summer camp.

In 2022, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Ethan Menning. Ethan is the son of Ann and Sgt. Jason Menning. He is a 2022 graduate of Gretna High School and is currently a seminarian studying Philosophy and Catholic Studies at the University of Saint Thomas.

In 2022, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Jaden Lasater. Jaden is the daughter of Officer Nikki Lasater and Officer Tim Lasater. She is a 2022 graduate of Missouri Valley High School and is currently attending the University of South Dakota majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish.

In 2022, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Jaclyn Negrete. Jacklyn is the daughter of Jenny and Officer Joe Negrete. She studies Human Biology at the College of Saint Mary.
2021
In 2021, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Elizabeth Lampert. Elizabeth is the daughter of Michaela and Officer Keith Lampert. She is the oldest of eight children and a 2021 graduate of Marian High School. Elizabeth plans to study Nursing at Creighton University

In 2021, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Owen O’Brien. Owen is the son of Audra and Lieutenant Trevor O’Brien. He is a 2020 graduate of Lewis Central High School and is studying Sports Management at the University of Iowa.
2020 College
In 2020, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial College Scholarship to Kaylee Lewis. Kaylee is the daughter of Nebraska State Patrol captain Russell P. Lewis, and granddaughter of retired Omaha police officer Russell L. Lewis. Kaylee attends University of Nebraska Medical Center and will graduate this spring with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Kaylee enjoys reading and working out in her free time.
2020 High School
In 2020, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial High School Scholarship to Michaela Diehm. Michaela is the daughter of Sgt. Angie Diehm and Retired Officer Mike Diehm. She enjoys playing tennis, frisbee golfing, riding ATV’s, hiking and spending time with family and friends. In May, Michaela graduated in the top 10% of her class from Blair High School. This fall, she will attend University of Nebraska at Lincoln to study psychology and Spanish.
2019 High School and College
In 2019, the Omaha Police Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial Scholarship to two deserving children of current officers of the Omaha Police Department. Millard West High School senior Elise Fricke (left) and University of Nebraska-Lincoln student Brooklyn Housh each received a scholarship award of $3,000 to offset their academic expenses. Fricke and Housh, both the daughters of active duty Omaha Police Officers, were selected based on their exceptional academic performance, leadership skills, extracurricular activities and scholarship application essay.
2018
For the first time in 2018, the Foundation awarded its Dr. Jack K. Lewis Memorial Scholarship to Elkhorn South High School senior Sierra Morris. Morris was selected based on her exceptional academic performance, leadership skills, extracurricular activities and scholarship application essay. With her father, Officer Dustin Morris, present Morris accepted an award of $5,000, which will help cover her tuition this fall, when she plans to attend University of Nebraska at Kearney.
